Conflict is the opposite of community development – conflict is transformation in reverse. When our efforts at building peace, justice and development succeed, our neighbourhoods become safer, and local streams of abundant life begin to flow. But conflict can erode relationships, destroy lives and demand our energies focus on peacebuilding, reconciliation and healing.
Urban Remixed is proud to support the Peace in the City Colloquium, an event that is guided by the team at Wycliffe Serves! in partnership with World Vision Canada.
The Latin word colloquium takes us to a place for conversation. This gathering is a space for listening and dialogue between urban practitioners whose vocation compels them towards peace and reconciliation on the streets of their cities. We will share many conversations over these days about the important practices and ideas of peace and conflict in our rapidly urbanizing world.
