Which and whose version of Jesus?
The Jesus of Calvin as dramatised in his theocratic mini-state in Geneva, in which FEAR was the order of the day—and copious executions too
Are not Claiborne and friends just another group of sinners, and hence full of the usual double-mindedness that ALL sinners display, despite and contrary to their seeming best intentions.
And like all sinners they have a hell-deep unexamined shadow which in one way or another influences everything that they do.
Everything—no exceptions.
