I read in the news yesterday that President Bush, our President, truthfully MY President as I am a registered voter in the US of A, promised that 4000 soldier deaths in Iraq 'would not be in vain...' That we will stay long enough to make those deaths count. He didn't mention the deaths of the people of Iraq (at justforeignpolicy.org I read 1,191,216 as of today), or the repercussions of this war; the targeting of Christians, increasingly dangerous and oppressive circumstances for women, the list goes on and on.

Anyway, this information isn't news to those of us reading this blog. It makes me even more convinced that Jesus for President tour is timely, and conversation about Isaiah 58 in our world always relevant.
